UAAP Women's Volleyball Clash: A Running Diary

Can't get enough of the game between Ateneo De Manila University and De La Salle University yesterday? I've got it all covered. Presenting... the first SPORTSCAST ENGINEER'S LIST OF EVENTFUL AND UNEVENTFUL EVENTS!

3:48 PM - In the middle of the 4th set of FEU-NU men's game. In one way or another these Tamaraw spikers are feeling the ill effects of Jerie Pingoy bolting out of FEU. Just as I've typed that, NU took the lead on this set 16-15, but down 2-1 in sets.

3:57 - Gary Valenciano shown on TV looking for his seat. At this point I am totally accepting my fate of tuning in to my most favorite TV channel... Lord, help me.

4:02 - The FEU libero just dug a spike using it's face. He thought it would work. If FEU does produce those kind of teammates, no wonder Jerie Pingoy will leave.

4:05 - FEU finished the game, forcing a sudden death for the men's title, and giving their libero another opportunity to practice his face dig.

4:10 - Twitter just announced Ara Galang and Abigail Marano are the co-MVPs of the tournament. On second thought, it might be better to tune in to Twitter for this game instead of suffering from another Studio 23 production.

4:19 - Announcing the bests of each statistical department. Why can't we have that on basketball? Like best in "Pass me the ball and I will either face up and shoot or drive to nothingtown but for sure I will not pass it anymore." I'd definitely nominate Kerby Raymundo over there.

4:25 - Adamson should win "Most Number of Hot Volleyball Players in the Team" Award.

4:27 - Second look at Abi Marano. Totally validated the Pearl Earring Law; a woman gets one step more beautiful if she wears a pearl earring.

4:35 - This opening video is so long. The worst part is it's not entertaining or do anything to make me more excited about this game. Studio 23 doesn't really do anything right.

4:41 - WENSH DEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4:45 - Serious question: How many Boom Gonzalez would ABS-CBN Sports need to do Boom Gonzalez things in order to improve everything that have to do in their production without Boom Gonzalez increasing his very demanding workload... because he's Boom Gonzalez.

4:57 - My popcorn is ready. When are we gonna start this effing game?!?!?!?!

5:02 - Finally! Waited for over an hour for it...

5:08 - 5-1 DLSU. ADMU are a bunch of lost souls ij the court.

5:08 - GRETA BEYBE!!!!!!!

5:14 - 8-7 DLSU. ADMU got their bearings back for a bit... well except for Alyssa Valdez, who got lost in that front line.

5:15 - WENSH DEAR FOR THE ATTACK!!!!!

5:17 - Alyssa Valdez just skmirked after that error she made. Dwight Howard must be smiling right now.

5:21 - Boom turning this one into Kris TV. We have a close game here man! Let Cha Cruz talk about the game!!!!!

5:22 - Technical Timeout. 16-14 DLSU. On to page 23 of coach Roger Gorayeb's Words of Wisdom.

5:26 - When ADMU doesn't score, they're sad. When they score, they're sad too.

5:29 - 22-17 DLSU. They're all smiles whatever happened. These two feels right now might be crucial down the stretch.

5:30 - Alyssa scored back to back. She's not smiling anymore. Kobe Bryant must be the one who's proud now.

5:33 - Alyssa four straight.

5:33 - Alyssa FIVE straight.

5:34 - DLSU just said NO FUCKING WAY! to ADMU. Took the first set 25-23. As my geek friend would say it, "As expected."

5:39 - Alyssa in the backline. She just scored. These ADMU attackers are so neutralized in the front line.

5:43 - Alyssa Valdez again! She must be screaming right now, "I should be the freaking MVP!!!!"

5:44 - ADMU 8-4. Finally got their first technical timeout.  The words of wisdom will be spared for now.

5:46 - Boom TV guest for this time, Rachel Ann Daquis. That means he is not paying attention to Alyssa Valdez just nailing another one and raising hell.

5:50 - Fille Cainglet scored back to back, raising the lead 13-7. Is ADMU finally getting their groove on scoring?

5:54 - Michelle Gumabao with an F-U attack to Fille. Poor girl. DLSU closing in in the second set.

5:57 - ADMU 16-13 on the second set. DLSU still playing loose and relaxed even with that Marano overserving.

5:59 - Nice set of the ADMU libero to Mika Reyes. Wait, what?

6:01 - Back to back block and stare down by Mika Reyes to Alyssa Valdez. #MikaReyesSwag

6:03 - From 13-16 to 21-18 DLSU. Uh oh!

6:07 - Mika Reyes just ended that 2nd set with an ace.  Ateneo needs that divine intervention right now.

6:09 - Checked on AKTV. It's halftime. Coach Frankie Lim starting to be a 2013 version of a TV analyst Yeng Guiao.

6:13 - Serious question: Could Jem Ferrer try to make someone else try to score other than Alyssa Valdez? (cut to Fille Cainglet, Gretchen Ho, and Dzi Gervacio agreeing to me)

6:17 - ADMU got the first TTO of the third set. How about getting your first set before La Salle getting their third?

6:19 - (In a very strong anchor voice) Mika Reyes for the spiiiiiiiikee... SHORT!

6:23 - As I was about to say that ADMU increasing the lead silently, WENSH DEAR nailed it down the line! 13-10 ADMU this third set.

6:25 - Coach Roger telling the girls what he should have told them way way earlier... RELAX!

6:27 - DLSU taking the second TTO. They smell championship while my hands smells like popcorn. I don't think I need a new bag to cook.

6:29 - ADMU receiving those service like it's a can of hot horse crap. Can't get to get it right.

6:30 - DLSU 19-15. We're getting there.

6:31 - Ara Galang with an awesome off-angle attack! Too many arrows for the archers.

6:33 - DLSU suddenly went beast mode on. 22-16.

6:34 - Spotted DLSU volleyball patron Mikee Romero up in arms. He must be wishing he could bring that championship smell to GlobalPort.

6:36 - Fille attack rejected. Story of the game.

6:36 - Confetti down. DLSU WINS!!!!!!

6:38 - Group hugs everywhere. Coach Ramil De Jesus got mobbed by his players. God, I wanna be in Coach Ramil's shoes RIGHT NOW!

6:45 - Saw a glance of the Adamson volleyball players. Looks like they'll be the one who'll visit my house next year.

6:48 - Last glance of GRETA BEYBE! in an Ateneo jersey. Don't worry beybe, everything will be alright. Come to the house by 10 okay?
